Jelly Babies!

I’m very happy because I just received a shipment of jelly babies that I ordered back in September. In case you’re not familiar with them, I’d describe jelly babies as a distant cousin to gummy bears, but they’re about five times as big and a lot softer. Their flavor is also a lot more subtle — less sugary and more fruity. If you ever get a chance, definitely give them a try, especially if a man in a long scarf offers you one.

    • I actually went to my local grocery store on Tuesday, and they were out of my favorite candy — Sky Bars. But they did have Boyer Butterscotch Smoothies, which are kind of like peanut butter cups, but with butterscotch instead of chocolate. They were pretty good, but no substitute for chocolate. The weird thing about all of this is that I don’t really consider myself much of a candy eater. I think I just like anything obscure and hard to find.

  1. i’m with August. chocolate. got a bunch of Bounty bars (similar to an Almond Joy or Mounds bar) for my birthday back in December. never heard of them til that day. it was quite a birthday let me tell you! 🙂

  2. Now I want to try them. 🙂 I love gummy bears. Although sour patch kids are my favorite. Their commercials completely crack me up too.

  3. I’m seriously jealous. I’m gonna have to try to find them some time. Maybe that man in a scarf will should up… but then I’ll have to violate the “don’t take candy from strangers” rule… hmm…

BTW: best line in the seven plus minutes–4:16 mark–“Now drop your weapons, or I’ll kill him with this deadly jelly baby.”

That must be an interesting favor… maybe lemon?
