“Front of the Line”

I’ve been doing a bit of recording over the past few weeks. Here’s a really short one. My goal was to keep it under a minute–and to make the track sound like something I would have recorded with one of the bands I was in back in high school. Not sure if I’ll include it in my next collection, so I thought I’d share a rough mix here.

Wake up in a panic at the wheel of a car,
Suddenly it hits you that you don’t know who you are.
Waiting for a signal, hoping for a sign,
Everybody’s pushing to the front of the line.

Inch up on the red, lose a mile on the green,
Still you don’t believe that you’re part of the machine.
Waiting for a signal, hoping for a sign,
Everybody’s pushing to the front of the line.

Somewhere on the road, you find a moment of Zen,
But then you wake up in a panic, and you do it again.
Waiting for a signal, hoping for a sign,
Everybody’s pushing to the front of the line.

“West Philly Bedroom” by M. Zapatero

Here’s the latest Zapatero track. It’s a little different from the others. A little more rock, a little less electronic. But there’s still a nice synth break in the middle.

In any case, I’m charging $1 for it, but if that’s too rich for your blood, just drop me a line, and I’ll send you a code you can use to download the track for free.
